Analyzing the avant-garde at Coachella, with Lady Gaga

Breaking down the iconic moments and their designers during Lady Gaga’s iconic Coachella performance.

At Coachella 2025, Lady Gaga didn’t just headline—she curated a performance that blurred the lines between fashion, theater, and conceptual art. Each look was a chapter in a larger visual narrative, rooted in transformation vs. identity and spectacle.

She opened with “Bloody Mary,” draped in a dramatic, larger-than-life red cape designed by Sam–

Lewis and constructed by Seth Pratt. Known for his dark, edgy creations, Lewis has been a defining force behind the visual identity of her recent album. In Act Two, Gaga emerged on stage half-buried in sand beside scattered skeletons to perform her new track “Perfect Celebrity.” She wore an ethereal white corseted gown by Turkish-British designer Dilara Findikoglu.

In Act Three, she performed new tracks in playful, avant-garde pieces by Marni’s Francesco Risso, including a feathered blue coat and a bedazzled bodysuit.

Lady Gaga’s Coachella 2025 performance wasn’t just a concert—it was a fashion epic, staged in acts and styled with precision.

Each look served a purpose, pushing the boundaries of costume and couture while deepening the narrative of her music. In true avant-garde form, Gaga reminded us that fashion is more than clothing—it’s storytelling, spectacle, and self-reinvention.
