Part of owning a nice perfume is finding ways to get more bang for your buck. When shopping for perfumes, try to avoid Eau De Toilette, as they typically carry a higher alcohol concentrate, which not only dries out your skin but also evaporates at a faster rate compared to oil. Eau De Parfum has a higher oil concentrate, which helps the scent last much longer on both the skin and fabric.

When spraying your perfume, never rub the fragrance into your skin or clothing. Perfumes are layered with different notes, and these layers evaporate at different paces, causing a slow and luxurious wear throughout the day. By rubbing your fragrance, you are removing the top notes of your fragrance and shortening the wear time. Spraying the perfume a few inches away from the warmest spots of the body—behind the ears, wrists, inner elbows, and behind the knees—will create an intoxicating aroma that those around you will not be able to resist.

While spraying perfume in your hair can be extremely effective for long-term wear, the alcohol content is extremely drying and can damage your hair. If you still wish to spray perfume in your hair, my best recommendation is to either find a perfume oil. Perfume oil, which is different from an oil-based perfume, as it has a much lower alcohol content and will be less drying on your hair. Even though spraying perfume in your hair can hold the scent for a long period of time, I recommend saving this hack for special occasions and not making it an everyday practice.

One of my best tricks for helping my perfumes last longer is adding Vaseline to my skin and spraying the fragrance on top. This process stops the skin from absorbing the oil as fast and helps elevate the scent for a longer period of time.
